Installation of Intumescent Ironmongery Protection

All products are easy to install and require no maintenance once installed.

Cutting the material is easy with the use of knife or scissors.

When rebating for hinges increase depth by 1.8mm for the allowance of the Intumescent Hinge Strip.

Fit the strips tightly into the recess of the door and door frame. The Intuchem Intumescent Hinge Strips can be drilled or pinned for ease of installation.

Intuchem Intumescent Lock Sheet is designed to be used around the lock in the door. This will compensate for the reduction in thickness and will insulate the considerable heat transfer through the metal lock.

When installing the lock allow for the Intumescent Lock Sheet (some shaving of the door may be required). Use the Intumescent Lock Sheet to sandwich the lock between the material. The Intumescent Lock Sheet can either be wrapped around the lock or positioned inside the door, - allow enough room so as not to tear the material.

Ensure that handles, spindles and lock barrels passing through the door are wrapped in the Intumescent Lock Sheet.
