2.1 CHEMICAL DESCRIPTION.Intercalated graphite treated mineral fibre in air tight treated cotton bag.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES.

4.1 EYE CONTACT.
Flush immediately with large amounts of water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

4.2 SKIN CONTACT.
Rinse area of contact thoroughly with cold water. Do not rub or scratch exposed skin. Use a skin cream or lotion after washing. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

4.3 INGESTION.
Seek immediate medical attention.

4.4 INHALATION
Remove affected person from source of exposure. Seek medical attention.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES.

5.1 EXTINGUISHING MEDIA.Use extinguishing agent suitable for type of surrounding areas.

5.2 FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS.

The Fire Pillows are approved to BS 476 Part 20 as an effective fire barrier with an insulation up to 134 minutes and integrity over 135 minutes.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES.

6.1 PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS.

In the event of accidental damage to the Pillow, ensure that the operator exposure is minimised to the contents. During handling contents for disposal purpose, wear goggles, gloves, loose fitting overalls and dust mask to BS6106.

6.2 ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS.

7. STORAGE AND HANDLING

7.1 STORAGE. Storage should be indoors away from heat. Ideal storage should be between 10 and 30oC and below 75% relative humidity.

7.2 RECOMMENDED SHELF LIFE. Can be indefinite.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION.

8.1 OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS.

Under normal conditions of industrial use the Intuchem Pillow constitutes no health hazard as the likelihood of operator exposure to content is nil.

Manufacturing methods incorporated the use of an air tight bag inside a fire retardant fabric bag which are totally sealed during the manufacturing process, this inhibits the migration of the contents or dust.

8.2 ENGINEERING MEASURES.

8.3 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT.

No special precaution is necessary as Intuchem Fire Pillows are manufactured to prevent operator exposure to contents under normal industrial use. Strictly follow the instructions given for effective and safe use of the Pillows. Do not damage or split the Pillows.

Eye Protection
If the Pillow is accidentally split open or damaged, eye protection may be required especially in confined areas.

Skin Protection
Use of barrier cream is recommended during the handling of the Pillows in order to reduce accidental contact to contents.

Inhalation
If the operator is exposed to the contents of the Pillows, respiratory protection/dust mask should be used to ensure that operator exposure is below the recommendation.

Any waste or contaminated waste is considered non-hazardous at normal temperature and therefore it can be incinerated in a suitable facility or disposed of on an approved land fill site, provided the Local/National Regulations are observed.
