2. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS

3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

Main hazards: Flammable. Harmful: may cause lung damage if swallowed. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking.

 

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Skin contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water removing all contaminated clothes and shoes. Do NOT use solvents or thinners.

Eye contact: Remove contact lenses. Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention.

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If breathing has stopped apply artificial respiration. If unconscious, place in the recovery position and obtain medical attention. Give nothing by mouth.

Ingestion: If swallowed obtain immediate medical attention. Keep warm and at rest. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Extinguishing media: Use alocohol resistant foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemicals or water spray. DO NOT USE WATER JET.

Exposure hazards: Fire will produce dense black smoke containing hazardous combustion products (see heading 10). Decomposition products may be hazardous to health.

Protective equipment: Wear self contained breathing apparatus for fire fighting if necessary.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal precautions: Remove all sources of ignition. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Evacuate personnel to safe areas. See section 8 for personal protective equipment.

Environmental Precautions: Do not let product enter drains or water courses. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.

Clean-up methods: Contain and collect spillage with a non-combustible absorbent material (i.e. sand, earth). Transfer to suitable container for disposal. Clean the spillage area with detergent. Avoid the use of solvents.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling:
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Ensure adequate ventilation or exhaust ventilation in the working area. Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition. Do not breathe vapours. wear personal protective equipment Adopt best Manual Handling Operations when handling, carrying and dispensing. See section 8 for personal protective equipment.

Storage:
Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep at temperatures between 5 and 25 °C. Keep away from direct sunlight, sources of ignition and heat. Protect from frost. Keep in properly labelled containers. Do not store together with strong acids and oxidizing agents. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.

Respiratory protection: In case of insufficient ventilation wear suitable respiratory equipment.

Skin protection: Wear cotton or synthetic overalls. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY

Stability: Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions. See section 7.

Conditions to avoid: Heat, sources of ignition and direct sunlight.

Materials to avoid: Avoid oxidising agents and strongly alkaline or acidic materials to prevent possibility of exothermic reaction.

Decomposition: Smoke, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides may be formed.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Toxicological data: There is no data available on the product itself.

Acute toxicity: Inhalation of high vapour concentrations can cause irritation of the mucous membrane and the respiratory system and the renal and Central Nervous System. Symptoms include headaches, dizziness, fatigue, muscular weakness, drowsiness and in extreme cases loss of consciousness.

Corrosivity/irritation: Irritating to eyes. May cause irreversible eye damage.

Repeated dose toxicity: Repeated or prolonged skin contact may lead to defatting of the skin resulting in non-allergic contact dermatitis.

The disposal of wastes arising from industrial premises is subject to The Environmental Protection (Duty of Care) Regulations 1991. Do not dispose of waste into sewer.
